Andrea very recently joined Queens Road Dental Practice as Practice Manager. Previously Andrea worked in HR/Recruitment within the Oil and Gas industry and has extensive experience of managing teams and delivering the highest level of customer service.

Ms Andrea Paterson
Dr Robert Laing
Robert gained a HNC in Dental Technology in 1992 and worked as a Dental Technician in Aberdeen until 1993. He then went on to complete his BDS degree at Dundee University in 1999. Born and raised in Aberdeen he has worked as a dentist at Queens Road Dental Practice since 2000.
Robert is an experienced/invaluable member of our team and is very keen to welcome patients to the practice. He is keen to put even the most nervous patient’s fears at ease!
Robert keeps up to date with the latest techniques/procedures to offer a high standard of dentistry to all his patients. His relaxing approach helps patients to feel at ease and feel confident while undergoing dental treatment.
Out of work Robert is married with 3 children. He enjoys playing football with his children, playing tennis and holidaying in the highlands of Scotland.
Dr Clare Perrell- Jones
Clare graduated from Newcastle University Dental School with honours in 1998 and worked in the surrounding area for 2 years. She then moved to Aberdeen where she worked for the same private dental practice for 16 years before joining us at Queens Road.
Clare is always keen to enhance her dental knowledge and skills and has completed numerous courses including a year -long dental implant certification, various cosmetic orthodontic courses (she is accredited to provide Invisalgn, Inman Aligner and Fastbraces) and postgraduate studies in intravenous sedation.
Most recently Clare completed with distinction a 4 year Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Warwick. This further degree allows Clare to diagnose, plan and treat advanced and complex cases included tooth wear, missing teeth, aesthetic issues and gum problems.
Dr Sheham Gamal
Sheham Gamal recently joined the practice as an Associate Dentist. Dr Gamal qualified as Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry in 1998 (Prague) with license to practice Dentistry in the UK, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland.
Dr Gamal has taken many advanced courses in Orthodontics, Cosmetic Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Implant Dentistry as well as gaining a Restorative Postgraduate Diploma and Prosthodontics Postgraduate Degree.
Dr Gamal has vast experience and knowledge of All-on-4 implant retained dentures, benefiting from being trained by the Inventor, Dr Malo, in Lisbon, Portugal. He has also placed more than 6000 in the last 6 years across the UK, Spain and Belgium.
Dr Gamal believes in excellent patient care and is committed to ensuring they receive the highest quality of dental care. He considers himself a “Smile Designer”, through using the most up to date cosmetic dental techniques and procedures.
Dr Anya Ratakowska
Ania joined the practice on a permanent basis in Jan 2017, after working part-time for two years. Ania graduated in 1989 from the Medical Academy in Gdansk. After graduating, she worked as an Associate Dentist in Gdansk for 7 years before moving to Scotland in 2006. Ania has attended many dental courses and has a keen interest in expanding her knowledge and experience within aesthetic dentistry. She aims to restore and enhance the natural beauty of your smile using state-of-the-art procedures that provide beautiful and long-lasting results. She believes minimally invasive dentistry has become an essential component in creating functional, aesthetic and increased longevity restorations.
Lily Plamena Mya
Plamena was born in Bulgaria and spent the later 15 years of her life in Poland before relocating to Aberdeen.
It was during her stay in Poland that she became a fully qualified dental hygienist in 2011 from the Sopot Medical School. Prior to becoming a dental hygienist, she worked as dental nurse for 4 years in Poland, gaining valuable clinical and dental experience in a private practice setting.
She joined Queens Road Dental in October 2012 as a dental hygienist. Plamena has a special interest in educating her patients about prevention of gum diseases, detecting early signs of mouth cancer and resolving inflammation in the most challenging cases of gum problems.
Plamena is very keen to expand and update her knowledge and understanding of the periodontal field by attending courses and conferences around the UK.
Plamena is mufti-lingual and is fluent in spoken and written English, Polish and Bulgarian.
Alicja has seven years of experience working in dentistry, originally, she trained as a dental nurse. She then decided to progress further and studied at Dundee University to become a Dental Therapist, gaining a degree with distinction as well as two Best Clinician awards.
She aims to prevent dental problems such as dental caries and gum disease. A lot of people ignore the first signs of gum disease but Alicja stresses that healthy teeth are as important as healthy gums!
Her working mantra is to treat her patients in the way she would like to be treated, and she focuses on honesty, precision and open-mindedness. Alicja thinks every patient deserves to be presented with various treatment options and have their treatment tailored to their personal needs. In her spare time she is a fitness instructor and enjoys going to the cinema.
Aileen qualified from the Dundee Dental Hospital in June 1990 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Since qualifying, Aileen spent many years in community dental care, treating children and medically compromised in hospital and home settings. In May 1999, Aileen joined Queens Road Dental Practice and thoroughly enjoys building rapport and getting to know patients as well as building confidence in nervous patients.
Amber was born in Northern Ireland where she worked for 10 years as a Dental Nurse before moving to Aberdeen and joining Queens Road Dental Practice in 2001. She gained her National Dental Nurse Qualification in 2007. Amber enjoys all aspects of dentistry but most of all, enjoys building a friendship with her patients. She is a friendly enthusiastic member of the team and tries to put nervous patients minds at ease. Away from work, Amber enjoys walking, attending music festivals and trips home to Ireland.
Heather started at Queens Road Dental Practice in 1996. Always keen to progress her career and develop new skills, Heather passed her Dental Nurses Qualification in 2007 (Nat Cert NEBDN 2007). In 2009 she then went on to successfully pass her Dental Radiography Examinations allowing her to take digital x-rays for patients using Queens Road Dental Practice’s state of the art digital radiography equipment. Outside of dentistry Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Rhea started at Queens Road Dental Practice as a trainee dental nurse in 2009. Since then she has gone on to achieve her National Certificate in 2012 and is now a fully qualified dental nurse. Rhea enjoys all aspect of dentistry and has great experience in assisting with surgical procedures. In particular, Rhea enjoys working as part of the team and building relationships with her patients. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog Milly.
Eniko joins the practice on a full time basis having just recently qualified from Aberdeen Dental School. Previously Eniko worked in both private and NHS settings. In her spare time, Eniko likes playing with her nephews and nieces and visiting museums.
Ashleigh joins Queens Road Dental Practice having previously worked at another busy private dental practice for 6 years in Aberdeen.
Ashleigh is a qualified and experienced dental nurse, having qualified with a National Diploma in Dental Nursing NEBDN 2013. In her previous role, she enjoyed all aspects of dentistry and has gained clinical knowledge in dental implants, cosmetic orthodontic dentistry, hygiene care and facial aesthetics. She thoroughly enjoys spending time with patients, building a relationship with them as well as working as part of a tight knit team.
Ashleigh brings a wealth of dental knowledge to her new role. She will be working closely and supporting the admin and reception team. You will most likely meet Ashleigh on Reception where she is one of your first point contacts. Her responsibilities are to ensure you receive the best long term patient journey possible through continuously analysing and improving customer service and discussing treatment plans and options with you. She will also be able to offer complimentary consultations for anyone wishing to find out more about cosmetic dentistry.
