What to expect when you register with us as a new patient.

First and foremost you will receive a very warm welcome from the staff at Queens Road Dental Practice.

If you are nervous about visiting the dentist please try not to worry.  However to help us please do tell us if you have any concerns. Our team meets many patients everyday who are not that keen about visiting the dentist. It is our job to make your visit as stress free possible.

Please arrive about 15 minutes before your appointment to complete a medical questionnaire. Ashleigh our Patient Treatment Co-ordinator will meet with you on a one to one basis and explain to you as to what to expect from your new patient examination, discuss any concerns you may have at this stage and where applicable recommend some relaxation techniques before she introduces you to your dentist.

Your dentist will carry out a full mouth assessment which includes an examination of all soft tissues, teeth, gums, your bite and screening for any signs of oral cancer. They will also take a couple of small X-rays to check for any new or existing decay. From this detailed examination, your dentist will then explain his findings to you discuss any dental problems and provide a detailed and tailor made treatment plan with a written estimate of costs.  As part of your new patient examination you will also receive a complimentary 15 minute hygiene appointment with our Dental Therapist Kevin

Ashleigh, your dentist and Kevin will work with you to ensure you are fully informed about any dental choices you many need to make.
